How has embedding Jiggle into this multi-award winning care home provider’s strategy supported their business growth?

The challenge

We worked with a multi–award winning home care provider, launched in 2008, that offers excellent standards of support across its branches in the UK. They were seeking recruitment partner to work within their branches to enable their franchises to grow in the right way.

 

The challenges they faced included: 

  • Chicken and egg – when operating new branches/ventures. Do you recruit staff before the work is coming in or wait until the work comes in and then recruit and onboard which delays delivery of services. They needed to mobilise quickly and in a quality way for incoming referrals but also recruit permanent team. 
  • High sector turnover rate 
  • Geographical differences – each branch had a different challenge. Some rural branches had difficulty sourcing drivers required to cover shifts whereas others had difficulty in 
  • Regulatory pressures (delayed onboarding of) 
  • Perception issues – Domiciliary / home care roles are often seen as less desirable due to unique challenges of supporting people in the community.  
 

They had tried in- house traditional recruitment approaches and other agencies who promised the world but they weren’t able to get over the same challenges they were having in house.

The solution

We made a strategic decision to change allocate knowledgeable Local Recruitment and Account experts to achieve the provider’s hiring and growth goals. These experts also worked alongside our Jiggle Head of Operations and Director for extra support and sector expertise.

We worked with the provider to mentor new business leaders about best practice recruitment techniques, recruitment compliance in general and Health & Social Care Regulatory requirements.  We supported them with both temporary agency support and permanent recruitment across their UK branches with a focus on expertly marketing the provider to candidates and why they were the employer of choice and matching the provider’s strong caring values with candidates who shared their values.
